Street lamp. c1835. Cast-iron. A tall tapering base to rounded moulding, with a shaft of fasces, cross bar through a round wreath, and mid C20 lamp with finial. HISTORY: one of three matching lamps that may be the originals, for which Rennie preferred the use of gas. Forms part of the most complete Victualling Yard in the country, a unique example of Neo-Classical planning of a state manufacturing site.
