Description
This pair of bollards, dating from around 1835, is located in front of Melville at the Royal William Victualling Yard in Plymouth. Made of cast iron, the bollards are approximately 4 meters apart and each stands 2 meters from the doorway to the left of the main entrance. They are designed in the form of a fasces topped with a circular wreath, reflecting a Roman style that is consistent with the street lamp in the yard. These bollards are part of one of the finest planned industrial complexes in the country.
