Description

The Scott Memorial is a memorial obelisk with a statue, built in 1913 by Albert H. Hodge. It is made of dressed stone and bronze and has a square base. The monument features a stepped and moulded base with a bronze panel on each of its four sides. The obelisk tapers upwards and includes a moulded entablature and a stepped cap, which is topped by a bronze winged figure. The bronze reliefs on the panels illustrate various aspects of Scott's journey to the South Pole in 1912.
