Description
No. 111 Ridgeway is a town house built in the late 18th century, featuring 20th-century rendered details at the front. The building is rendered over what is likely rubble, topped with an asbestos slate roof that has a modillioned and dentilled eaves cornice. The rear of the house has slate hanging, and there are brick stacks at the ends. The overall plan is U-shaped, including rear wings that are set at right angles.
The house has two storeys and a four-window range. The windows are late 19th or 20th-century horned sashes without glazing bars, framed within rendered eared architraves that have keyblocks. The wider ground-floor openings feature tripartite windows. To the left of the centre, there is a late 19th-century pilastered doorway with a moulded hood supported by consoles, an overlight, and a six-panel door. At the rear, there is a notable Venetian window with pilasters and a keyblock above the round-arched central light.
The interior has not been inspected, but a previous listing description mentions a late 18th-century staircase with turned balusters, a square newel, and a moulded handrail, suggesting there may be other original features of interest.
