Description

Oriel Terrace comprises a symmetrical group of fourteen houses built in 1847. The houses are constructed of ashlar and are three storeys high with a basement, with the central three and end houses also having an attic storey with shaped gables. Each house originally had two windows, except for the end houses which have one window but entrances in three-bay returns. The windows are stone mullioned and transomed with casements on the ground and first floors. The tall doorway heads are cambered, featuring four-panel doors and overlights. Continuous cill bands mark each floor, and the ground and second floors have cornices. The end bays and the two central bays are slightly projected, with the central two bays separated by channelled piers and featuring an enriched panel above the doorway inscribed 'Oriel Terrace'. The terrace is accompanied by garden walls and gate piers.
