Description

Linden House is an early 19th century house, later used as a school. It is constructed of stucco, with a lined appearance, and has a hipped roof covered in asbestos slate, notable for its deep eaves and a large chimney stack. The house originally featured three windows to the front elevation, all sash windows in plain reveals. A central panelled and glazed entrance door has an overlight and a flat hood supported by slender piers; a cast iron canopied verandah was attached to the right of the door, extended to the right return, although the canopy itself was missing at the time of inspection in March 1985. To the left and slightly set back is a two-storey wing. This wing has a sash window to the ground floor and a nine-pane sash window above, with plain reveals and a parapet with ramped coping to the left. A plinth is present. The right return has two windows, also sash windows in plain reveals. The interior has not been inspected.
