Description
Bow Bridge spans the River Yeo to the southeast of Congresbury. It is possibly from the late 18th century or early 19th century and is constructed from locally cut and squared stone. The bridge features a single arch, approximately 5.5 meters wide, made up of a single row of voussoirs on either side, along with a very low, single-coursed stone parapet.
This bridge is located on a footpath that crosses the River Yeo and is one of three small-scale bridges situated close together to the east and southeast of the village. Bow Bridge appears on the 1885 Ordnance Survey map, indicating its likely construction in the late 18th century or early 19th century.
Bow Bridge is designated as a Grade II structure due to its well-preserved state and its strong group value with other bridges of a similar age and style nearby.
