Description
Max Mill Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century and later. It is rendered and has pantiles. Originally designed in an L-plan, it has additional wings that create a small central courtyard. The south elevation features two storeys and three bays, with a central 19th-century glazed porch. The stone doorcase has a chamfered four-centred arch and a 17th-century door with raised moulded muntins and rails. The original (west) wing includes a large stack and a small casement window. The 19th-century east and north wings, along with further later extensions, have modern glazing and interiors. Inside the main building, there are deep chamfered beams. A room in the wing contains a 17th-century corner cupboard. The west room features a 17th-century chamfered stopped stone fireplace and 17th-century panelling. The east room has a moulded stone fireplace and an early 18th-century display cupboard with fluted pilasters.
