Description
The west garden walls with towers at Banwell Castle date from around 1848 and are constructed of rubble and freestone. The walls are embattled and feature a central boarded garden gate set within a flat arch opening. To the south, there is a small square embattled tower that has a plain door and is canted towards the road, with slit windows. To the north, there is a two-storey square embattled tower that includes a corbelled circular corner turret. This tower has a pointed pedestrian door facing north and a large flat arch opening to the south. The northern tower adjoins the gatehouse flanking wall.
