Description
The building is a gate lodge located to the north-west of Aldwick Court, dating from the early 19th century. It features wooden plank walls with attached battens set on a stone base course, topped with a thatched roof. The lodge has an S-shaped plan and is designed in the Picturesque Cottage Orne style. It is a single storey structure with triangular-headed three-light windows that have small leaded pane glazing arranged in a lattice pattern. There is a doorway in the right-hand corner, which is under a triangular head and has a plank and batten door. A central ashlar stack with octagonal pots is also present. Aldwick Court, which is referenced in the description, is located in the neighbouring parish of Blagdon.
