Description
Brook Cottages is a row of three terraced cottages built in the late 18th century. The cottages are rendered with stone copings and have pantile roofs. They have a U-shaped plan, featuring a two-storey, four-window range that runs parallel to the road, with two rear end wings on either side of a rear courtyard. The windows are 6-pane, 2-light casements from the 19th century, with the upper left-hand window projecting into the eaves line. There are two gabled porches supported by wooden posts, each with plank doors facing the road, and a similar porch and door on the right-hand side elevation. The cottages have two brick ridge stacks, with one rendered stack at the right-hand end. The right-hand side elevation also features 12-pane sash windows. The name of the cottage row comes from a brook located at the rear.
