Description
Bourne Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with a 19th-century addition. It features colourwashed render, oak mullions, and a triple Roman tile roof. The original 17th-century section runs parallel to the road, while the 19th-century extension is at right angles, creating an L-shaped plan. The building has two storeys and a three-window facade. The 17th-century windows on the left side include one four-light and three three-light ovolo mullions, while the right side has three-light casements from the 19th century. The doorway is offset to the right and has a moulded lintel, renewed jambs, and a 19th-century panelled door with three rectangular fanlights. There is a one-storey lean-to conservatory on the right with an outer door. The farmhouse has two brick ridge stacks, with one end stack rendered on the 19th-century addition. Inside, the ground floor right room features a compartmented ceiling with complex moulded ribs and a large inglenook fireplace.
