Description

This is a late 19th-century former Methodist Chapel, now used as a Masonic Lodge. The building is constructed of random coursed rockfaced rubble with squared quoins, ashlar dressings, and a timber-framed superstructure with roughcast infill on a brick skin. It features a plain tile roof. The layout includes a nave and a south-east corner tower. The nave has four bays, with trefoil-headed windows set in pairs within the timber framework; these windows contain geometric patterned stained glass. The tower has a pyramidal roof with bracketed eaves, and a wooden stairway to the east facade, sheltered by a lean-to canopy. A Caernarvon-arched doorway with two-leaf plank doors is on the west facade. The chapel was originally built by the Wills family and is a significant visual feature in the village landscape, contributing alongside Mill House and Gauge House.
