Description

The building comprises a group of ten houses, dating to around 1847. Originally designed as a crescent, the end houses project forward as pavilions. The roofs are a mix of tile and slate. Constructed from ashlar stone, the houses are four storeys high, with a basement level. Each house originally had three windows, with the ground floor and second floor retaining sash windows with glazing bars. In the central section, the first and second floor windows are set into deep, segmental arch recesses. These recesses support semi-circular balconies with pierced stone balustrades located beneath the first-floor windows. The end pavilions feature square balconies extending across three windows. All ground-floor windows are set into shallow recesses. Brackets support a cornice, which is topped with a parapet. A modern extension is present at the front of No. 1. The building is situated alongside Greenfield Place, and Nos. 32 and 34 Knightstone Road, and it is part of the early development of Weston-Super-Mare.
