Description
Buzza Tower is a windmill built in 1821 and restored in 1911. The tower is made of squared and coursed granite and features a slate roof. It has a circular plan and stands three storeys tall, with a ground-floor veranda that has a pent roof supported by alternating iron posts and granite pillars, creating covered seating areas. The first and second floors have unmoulded openings, and the structure is topped with a coped parapet supported on a blocking course.
Historically, the windmill was constructed on the site of a Bronze Age kerbed cairn, which was previously excavated by William Borlase in 1752. The restoration in 1911 commemorated a visit by King Edward VII.
