TRESCO Round Island Lighthouse and attached house

Lighthouse. 1887, by William Tregarthen Douglass.

MATERIALS: Granite ashlar; cast-iron cupola.

PLAN: Circular plan to tapering three-stage tower.

EXTERIOR: Square-headed cross windows. Cast-iron parapet rail and lattice light with curved conical roof. Attached single-storey house of five-window range has four sash windows with glazing bars and central porch with doors in returns and fixed eight-pane casement to front; projecting cornice to flat roof. Lights modernised 1967.
