Description

This is a 17th-century barn located 30 metres east of Dormer Cottage in Chideock. It features coursed rubble-stone walls and a thatched roof with gable ends. There are wooden barn doors at the centre of both the north and south walls, each with a wooden lintel above. Inside, three tie-beams extend through the outer walls, secured with vertical slip-tenons and a wooden plate between the tenon and the wall surface. The roof includes pegged collars and through purlins.
