Description

Friars Cottage is a detached cottage, likely dating from the late 17th century. It may have originally been two properties. The walls are of rubble construction, painted to the front, with brick stacks and a thatched roof. The cottage is single room deep and has two storeys and 3 plus 2 windows, all of which are 3-light wooden casements. A 20th-century door is centrally located on the left half of the front, sheltered by a prominent thatched hood. A stack is positioned on the left gable, and another runs along the ridge between bays 3 and 4, which may have been the original right gable. A small fire window is visible in the left gable, and the rear wall features a 2-light casement centrally to the eaves. The right gable has a 3-light casement above a 20th-century conservatory extension. The interior has not been inspected.
