Description

Forde Abbey's detached stable block, located 50 metres north of the Dorter Range, dates from the mid-17th century. It features coursed rubble walls with stone quoins and a slate roof, complemented by three brick stacks. The building is designed in an H-plan and consists of two storeys with five windows. The stone mullions have hollow chamfers and transoms, and the windows contain lozenge lights made with lead cames, as well as opaque yellow and white glass. Some of the windows are sashes with thin glazing bars. At the rear, there is a dormer loft door.
