Description
The Fleur-de-Lys Inn is a 16th-century inn that has undergone significant alterations over the years. It features colourwashed brick with a tiled roof and includes various later brick extensions. The brickwork is believed to encase a timber framework. The building has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys tall with a five-window range. The windows are 9-pane 19th-century sash windows. There are two 19th-century pilastered doorways with part-glazed doors, one located near the center and the other to the right. The ground floor openings are topped with segmental arches. At the rear, there are 2-light casements with glazing bars.
Inside, the inn boasts moulded ceiling beams and other high-quality woodwork, much of which has been reset. According to the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, the original roof structure, which includes both collar-trusses and scissor-bracing, is still intact.
