Description
Deans Leaze Farm House is a farmhouse dating from around 1760. It was originally a coach house and stables for a house that was demolished around 1835, after which it was altered to become a farmhouse. The building features brick walls and a hipped tiled roof, with one brick chimney stack located to the right of the center and another at the rear. The original layout was L-shaped, but the angle was infilled with a slate-roofed block in the late 19th century.
The farmhouse is partly two storeys and partly one storey with an attic. The main front has a slightly projecting central section topped with a pediment, which includes a moulded parapet and cornice. The entrance features a six-panel raised panel door set in an open porch with a flat hood supported by timber posts. The ground floor has two sash windows with glazing bars, positioned under segmental arches. On the first floor, there are two similar sash windows and a central blind window.
Flanking the central bay are ranges of one storey with attics, each with a dentil cornice at the eaves. On the left side, the ground floor has two sash windows with glazing bars under segmental arches, while the attic features a hipped dormer with casements that also have glazing bars. On the right side, the ground floor includes a panelled door with a fanlight and one blind window. The attic has a gabled dormer with bargeboards and casements with glazing bars. There is also a lean-to extension at the right end, which has double timber doors.
