Description

Rose Cottage is a detached mid-18th century cottage located 250 metres east-southeast of North Poorton Church, standing within a field setting. The cottage is constructed of rubble-stone walls with a thatched roof featuring gable ends. Brick stacks are positioned at both left and right hand gables. It is a two-storey building with four windows on the front elevation. These windows are wooden casements, containing two and three lights with glazing bars. The windows have wooden cills dating to approximately the 18th century and are topped with segmental brick archheads. Smaller two-light casements are found in the upper floor. The front doors, positioned left and right of centre, are plank doors, the left being of 19th century origin while the right is also of the 19th century.
