Description
Garrett Memorial Methodist Church is located on Bell Street and was originally erected in 1766, with significant rebuilding occurring between 1827 and 1917. The church's current exterior mainly reflects mid to late 19th-century construction and is made of rough ashlar stone. It features Perpendicular architectural elements. The entrance front, which is gabled, is situated at the northeast end and has five bays along Bell Street, with windows arranged in two tiers, some of which have cusped heads. There are four ground floor windows with pointed heads and dripstones. The leftmost bay has a gable above it, with a Perpendicular style window situated above. At the northeast end, the entrance front showcases a wide pointed arch with a Perpendicular style window in the upper storey and a doorway with side-lights in the lower storey. A bellcote is positioned above the entrance.
