Description
Horsehill Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse with a datestone reading TCM 1669 above the front door, which features a modillion frame. There is another datestone, SIM 1691, located further to the right, and a rear wing with a date of R.S. 1778 on its east wall. The building has dressed stone walls and a new Roman-tile roof with stone gable copings. It is two storeys high and has five windows, which include 3- and 4-light stone mullions that are hollow-chamfered. The ground floor windows have separate labels above them, and there is a close grouping of two windows at the right-hand end. The front door, located at the original centre, is made of wood with flush and fielded panels and has a wooden door surround dating from the 18th century.
In the north-west corner, there is a long rear wing that was added in the 18th century, featuring stone gable copings and a ball finial at the apex. This wing is also two storeys high and has two windows, which are 3-light wooden casements with lead lights and wooden lintels above. There are steps leading up at the gable end to a former granary, which has a plank door.
