Description

The premises occupied by Mr. Pearson, located on Long Street, date back to 1625. The building features a 19th-century front and stands two storeys high with four window bays. It has a slate gabled roof and a colourwashed rendered front. The façade is adorned with plain giant pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice. On the first floor, there are sash windows that are three panes wide set in reveals. The ground floor has a large plate glass shop front, with double ledged doors in reveals at the right-hand end. This building is part of a group that includes Rose Cottage, the former Castle Hotel, The Bank House, premises occupied by The National Westminster Bank, Old Bank House, and Abbot's Litten, along with a timber-framed structure at the rear of No. 87 Cheap Street.
