ST 70 SW PIDDLETRENTHIDE PIDDLETRENTHIDE VILLAGE (WEST SIDE)

9/225 26-1-56 Stables and outbuilding range 10 m west of Piddletrenthide Manor (formerly listed as Stables and Summer House in Manor Park)

Stables and outbuilding range. Probably C17 in origin though largely remodelled Cl9. Part brick and flint bands, part rubble and flint bands and part rendered. Brick dressings. Hipped and gable-ended slate roofs. L-plan. Irregular fenestration, part single and part 2- storey. Various sashes and casements, some with diamond pattern lights. North facade has centre-piece of brick with dentilled cornice, recessed panels and parapet piers. Below are 2 double wooden carriage-doors. Bellcote of wood with clock and lead tent roof. C19 stalls etc. internally. RCHM, Dorset, vol III, p 216, no 4.
