Description
No. 26 Briantspuddle, formerly known as Briantspuddle Farmhouse, is a detached farmhouse with origins dating back to the early 17th century. It was enlarged in the late 17th century and altered around 1837. The building features brick and cob walls and is topped with a thatched roof, complemented by brick stacks. It is positioned at right angles to the road.
The older section of the farmhouse, which is furthest from the road, consists of one storey and attics. It has an entrance with a ledged door, and the ground floor includes three casement windows with glazing bars, along with one modern metal casement window. The attic features two dormers with casements.
The later section, which is adjacent to the road, has two storeys and attics. It also has an entrance with a ledged door. The ground floor includes one double-hung sash window with glazing bars and one casement window. On the first floor, there are two casement windows, and the attic has one dormer with casements. The gable end facing the road features a double-hung sash window with glazing bars on the ground floor, as well as casements on the first and attic floors.
