Description
Talbot Farm House, along with the attached barn at the rear, likely dates to the 18th century. The main house is constructed with plastered cob walls and covered by a thatched roof, featuring brick stacks. It is two storeys high and has a thatched timber porch with a panelled, part-glazed door. The ground floor has four casement windows with glazing bars, while the first floor contains horizontally sliding sash windows, also with glazing bars. A single-storey range, originally outbuildings, extends back from the road at the west end of the house and has plastered walls and a thatched roof. Two ground floor rooms within the main house retain open fireplaces and remnants of bread ovens. A large barn, contemporary with the house, is located at the rear of the site and is attached to the single-storey range. It has plastered cob walls and a thatched roof, with a projecting cart porch in the north wall, sheltered by a catslide roof and accessed through timber doors.
