Description

No. 12, Dizzy Cottage is likely an 18th-century cottage. It has brick walls set on a stone base, with a colourwashed finish. The roof is thatched and incorporates a brick stack, partially plastered. The cottage is two storeys high. On the ground floor, there are four casement windows with glazing bars. Evidence suggests a former doorway existed. The first floor has three horizontally sliding sash windows, also with glazing bars. A single-storey lean-to extends from the south end of the house, constructed with stone walls and a thatched roof. A later lean-to is located at the rear, with plastered walls and a tiled roof. The entrance is situated within the north wall. One ground floor room features a large open fireplace with a timber lintel, and some exposed ceiling joists are visible.
