Description

No. 23 Fore Street is an attached cottage dating from the early 19th century. It features brick walls laid in Flemish bond, a stone plinth, and a rendered gable wall. The roof is slate, with stone gable copings, and there are large brick stacks from the early 20th century at both gable ends. The cottage is two storeys high and has three sash windows with 16 panes and stone cills. The front door, located on the right side, is a 19th-century panelled door with a fanlight above, set within a round-headed arch-surround made of gauged brickwork.
