Description
Lloyds Bank, built around 1872, is a three-storey building designed by architects Fletcher and Brett. It features a stone facade with a roof concealed behind a parapet, showcasing a classical design. The ground floor has rusticated stonework and includes two doorways with round-headed arches and panelled doors, alongside four round-headed windows that have carved keystones and double-hung sashes. On the first floor, there are six double-hung sash windows with stone surrounds; the two outer windows have segmental pediments, while the others have straight-sided pediments on console brackets. The second floor also has six segmental-headed double-hung sash windows with moulded stone surrounds. The building is topped with a balustraded parapet, making it a notable example of late 19th-century architecture.
