Description
Messrs Dibbens' Offices is an 18th-century building located on the west side of West Borough. It was extended at the rear in the 19th century. The exterior features colourwashed brick walls and a tiled roof with a slate eaves course, along with brick stacks. The rear extension is also made of brick and has a slate roof.
The main entrance includes a doorway with a six-panel door and a flat moulded hood supported by console brackets. To the north of the entrance, there is an inserted canted bay window with double-hung sashes and a timber dentil cornice. To the south of the door, there is a similar canted bay and one double-hung sash window with a central glazing bar. There is a blocked door opening at the south end of the facade.
On the first floor, there are four double-hung sash windows with central glazing bars, and plaster keystones above the arches. An archway south of the main building leads to a through passage, and above this archway is a three-light double-hung sash window with glazing bars. The interior has been much altered, but the staircase appears to be early 19th century, featuring a simple handrail and square balusters.
