Description
The Toll-House on the county boundary with Somerset, located on the A30, is a detached structure dated 1854. It features coursed stone walls and a tile roof with gable ends, stone gable-copings, and stone finials. The building is 1½ storeys high, with a front wall that slightly projects at the center of the first floor. It has three windows, each with two-light stone mullions and cast-iron casements that have lozengy intersections, along with hood-moulds above. The front doorway is positioned to the left of center and has a four-centre head with a separate label above it. The door itself is made of planks and is fitted with strap hinges.
