Description
Newton Farm House is a farmhouse with origins dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, featuring an early 19th-century refront and extensions. It is constructed from local stone that is cut and squared, with Ham stone dressings. The roof is covered with Welsh slate and has stone ridges between coped gables, along with brick chimney stacks. The building has a complicated ground plan and stands two stories tall with an attic. The south front has three bays and includes a plinth and a simple finish to the gables. The central entrance door is set in a moulded cambered arch and is topped with a flat stone hood supported by corbel brackets. The windows are hollow chamfered mullioned types with oval arched lights and large diamond panes, featuring four lights on the ground floor, three lights on the first floor, and two lights in the gables, along with additional single lights on either side of the entrance. There are buildings to the north of various dates, which include a variety of leaded casement windows.
