Description
Yew Tree Cottages are two semi-detached cottages built in the mid-19th century. They feature rubble-stone walls with dressed stone quoins and a thatch roof with half-hipped gables. A brick clustered stack is located at the center ridge. The cottages are one and a half storeys tall and have two windows: a three-light window on the ground floor and a two-light stone mullion window with cast-iron casements and lozenge lights. There is a continuous string course above the ground floor windows and doors. The front doorways are located towards each end of the front wall, featuring continuous straight-chamfered jambs and a depressed-arch head, with plank doors. Cottage No. 2 has a rear range that is at right angles to the main structure, constructed with rubble-stone and brick dressings, and also stands one and a half storeys tall with two windows of the same type.
