Description

Number 9 on West Street is a mid-19th century building constructed from Portland ashlar. It is a single storey structure featuring two Tuscan pilasters that support a full entablature and blocking course across the entire width of the building. The façade includes two segment-headed sash windows with plain raised surrounds and keystones. The entrance doors have two round-headed moulded panels and a transom that is inscribed with "R and H Williams" in a moulded panel. Above the doors is a semi-circular fanlight, all framed by Tuscan three-quarter columns that also support the entablature and blocking course. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 7 to 25 (odd).
