Description

This is an 18th-century building on West Street, situated within a group of properties that includes numbers 7 to 25 (the odd numbers). It is constructed of red brick with a pitched slate roof, incorporating coped ashlar gables and red brick stacks. The building is of three storeys and has attics.

The ground floor features a 19th-century shopfront with two canted bays. These bays have turned mullions and arched glazing bars, topped by a full entablature. The words "Gale" are displayed in good contemporary lettering above the central glazed door. A side doorway is present, incorporating two moulded round-arched panels and an oblong fanlight. The first floor has two canted bays with sash windows and a moulded cornice. The second floor contains three sash windows with glazing bars. A single flat-top attic dormer is visible, complete with a casement window.
