Former Manor House, now Hotel. C18, remodelled in 1880 and restored in 1896. Stone walls, rendered and painted. Asbestos slate roof, hipped and with bell-cast profile. Brick stacks at ridge, left hand and left of centre. South elevation: 2 storeys and dormers. 4 windows, sashes with thin glazing-bars. Stone cills. Segmental bay at centre with fixed ground floor windows and sashes above. Back door, right of centre, C20, with glass panels. North elevation: 6 windows, sashes with glazing-bars. Stone architraves, painted white and projecting stone keys. Porch, left of centre, with Ionic columns and dentil cornice. Front door, panelled with glass lights over, C20. East end of house, has a canted bay with dentil string and Ionic pilasters at ground floor level. Interior: main south room with early C19 ribbed panelling. Segmental bay at rear of room with recess-panel sides. The south-west C20 wing is not of special interest. (RCHM Dorset I, p.109 (4)).
