Description
Higher Pound Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century and the 19th century. It features rubble walls with brick quoins and is roughcast. The roof is slate with gable ends and has two brick stacks, one at the left end and one set in from the right end. The building is 1½ storeys high and has approximately four windows, which are casements with two, three, and four lights, all having glazing bars in the upper part. To the left of the center, there is a porch made of rubble with brick quoins, dating to around 1800, topped with a gabled slate roof. The front door is a plank door with a depressed-arch head. Inside, there are two mid-chamfered beams, one of which has filleted stops. The layout follows a lobby entrance plan with a doorcase-stair located on the back wall. At the right end of the building, there was a former cider house, which is now used as a garage.
