Description

Little Woolgarston Cottage is a detached cottage dating to the mid-to-late 17th century. It is constructed of rubble stone with a thatched roof and brick end stacks. The cottage is one storey high with an attic. A ledged door is set under a hipped thatched hood resting on shaped timber jambs. The ground floor has four casement windows with glazing bars, while the attic contains two dormers with similar casements and a small window under the eaves. Internally, both main ground floor rooms are characterised by large open fireplaces with timber lintols and some exposed chamfered ceiling beams. The roof structure appears to be original. 20th-century extensions have been added to the left side of the cottage, featuring weatherboarded walls and shingled roofs.
