Description

Sharford Footbridge is a footbridge that crosses the River Corfe and is most probably of medieval origin. It is constructed from rubble stone and has an unmetalled road surface. The footbridge is located on heathland to the northeast of Corfe Castle, within the Isle of Purbeck. It features two spans with two-centred arches; the western arch is pointed, while the eastern arch is rounded. The bridge has stone parapets with rustic style coping. Its maximum dimensions are 7 meters by 2.3 meters, and the distance between the parapets is 1.3 meters.
