Description

No. 9, High Street is probably an 18th-century building that was originally two cottages. It has plastered walls and a thatched roof, with brick stacks. The building is one storey high with an attic. The main facade has a modern part-glazed door, and three horizontally sliding sash windows with horizontal glazing bars on the ground floor. The first floor has three similar windows, but with full glazing bars. An outbuilding at the rear, located at the north end and partially incorporated into the house, features a timber door at ground floor level and a loft door at a higher level. This building is referenced in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, England, as Monument 22.
