Description
These are a group of four cottages, likely dating from the late 18th to early 19th century, situated on the north side of St James Street. They are two-storey buildings, each with two windows. The frontages are constructed of rough ashlar and stone rubble, with number 41 having a colour-washed front. They have plain tile roofs and casement windows with small panes. Each cottage features a wooden boarded door.
Outside numbers 35 to 39 is a pavement of stone setts, and further setts are located beside the pump within a central courtyard. A low dwarf wall and railings enclose the courtyard along the street frontage, contributing to the overall group value of the properties.
