Description
Nos 51 and 53 on St James Street are later cottages, likely built around the same time as No 35, which dates to 1615. They feature slate roofs and are constructed from squared rubble or rough ashlar. No 51 has one window bay, while No 53 has two window bays and a gabled dormer. The windows and doorway of No 53 have segmental heads, although the door itself is modern.
These cottages are part of a group that includes Nos 35 to 53 (odd), with stone setts outside Nos 35 to 39 (odd) and a pump located in the center of the court. A dwarf wall and railings enclosing the court on the street side contribute to the overall character of the area.
