Description
Thatch Cottage and Laneside Cottage are attached cottages dating from the late 18th century, located on the south side of Main Street in Chideock. They feature coursed lias stone walls that are rendered and washed, topped with a thatch roof that is half hipped on the right side. The buildings have three stacks: two brick stacks at the left party wall and one rendered stack at the right hip apex, with an additional stack at the right wall eaves. The cottages are 1½ storeys high and have four windows, which are three-light metal casements with glazing bars. The front door is centrally located, made of wood with nine glass panels.
Laneside Cottage is a small attached wing at the rear, constructed with rubble-stone walls and a thatch roof. It is also 1½ storeys high and features brick jambs on one of its casement windows. The front door is a plank door with one lozenge light.
