Description

Limbury Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating to circa 1700. It is constructed of brick walls laid in an irregular bond, with a chamfered stone plinth. The roof is covered in plain tiles with stone gable copings, and tall brick stacks are situated at the left and right gables. The farmhouse is two storeys high, originally with three windows featuring four-light stone mullions with ovolo mouldings, although the ground floor windows have been renewed. A continuous label runs over the ground floor windows, stepping up over the front door, with separate labels above the first-floor windows. The central front doorway has a slightly chamfered square head. There is an oval window on either side of the doorway; the door itself is a 19th or 20th-century replacement with twelve recessed panels. A continuous outshut is located at the rear.

Inside, an open fireplace is present in the right-hand room, with stone jambs. The right-hand jamb features a chamfered post supporting a chamfered wooden lintel. Another open fireplace is located in the left-hand room, with a depressed-arch stone lintel and a bread oven in the left jamb. The ceiling beams are mid-chamfered and deep-chamfered with tongued and filleted stops.
