Description
New Close Farmhouse and the attached cider house date from around 1800. The farmhouse features stone walls made of squared rubble resting on a plinth, with a thatched roof that has gable ends and stone gable copings. It has two storeys and three windows, each with voussoirs above, and wooden casements that include glazing bars. There are also two sash windows at the left end and a central front door, which is sheltered by a stone and glass porch added in the 1980s.
The attached cider house at the rear forms an L-shape with the farmhouse. It has walls made of coursed stone and brick, topped with stone gable copings and a thatched roof with a gable end. This structure is one storey high with a loft and consists of two bays. It features two doorways with segmental brick heads, wooden frames, and plank doors, as well as a wooden shutter covering an opening on the right side.
