Description

No. 52 is a cottage from the 17th century, which may have originally been two separate cottages. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick infill set on a rubble plinth. There is a later extension on the left side. The roof is thatched, gabled on the right and hipped on the left. The building has a single storey and an attic, with irregularly placed windows. These include 1, 2, and 3-light casements with glazing bars, and there are three eyebrow dormers. This description is referenced in "RCHM, Dorset, vol III", page 204, number 8.
