Description
Dwarf wall railings and gates to Sheerness Cottage, Cann Court, and Knapp Villa were constructed in the 19th century. The dwarf wall is made of stone rubble with a coping, and the railings feature fleur-de-lys finials. The wall, railings, and gates, which have similar ironwork, extend in front of Sheerness Cottage and continue around Cann Court on the north and east sides, reaching the entrance to Knapp Villa on the east side. From there, the wall and railings wrap around the corner to the south-west entrance of Knapp Villa. This entrance is flanked by a pair of stone gate piers with rounded capping, and the gates display a pattern of ironwork that matches the railings. The dwarf wall, railings, gates, and gate piers, along with nearby structures, form a cohesive group.
