Description
Sheerness Cottage, Cann Court, and Knapp Villa are a group of three houses dating from the early to mid-19th century. Sheerness Cottage has a rendered front, two window bays, and a doorway. It has windows without glazing bars, and a recessed round-headed doorway at the left end. An ashlar chimney stack is present. Cann Court has two bays facing Lower Blandford Road and four bays facing Salisbury Road, with a continuous frontage that links with the left bay of Sheerness Cottage. The Salisbury Road frontage is colour-washed with quoins, and features windows without glazing bars, including two round-headed windows on the ground floor of the fourth bay from the left. A C19 glazed porch features a four-panelled door, with some panels cut away and glazed. Knapp Villa’s main south-west front comprises two storeys and three windows with intact glazing bars. It has a rendered front and a slate hipped roof. The front facing Lower Blandford Road also has windows with intact glazing bars, and a door at the right end with some panels cut away and glazed. A later gently coved canopy on panelled ironwork extends across the whole front.
